Jonathan Swift

Jonathan Swift operates the Dublin - Holyhead route for Irish Ferries alongside Ulysses and Epsilon. Built in 1999 by Austal, Australia for Irish Ferries for its present route. The fast ferry was in direct competition to Stena Line's HSS service from Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead operated by Stena Explorer until the routes closure in 2014. The Jonathan Swift has the advantage of lower operating costs however the vessel has been operating slower than originally intended to improve fuel efficiency.
