01 - 03 - 16
Irish Ferries Cruise Ferry Oscar Wilde was today refloated and shifted to the Outfitting Quay in Belfast Harbour. The vessel arrived in Belfast for refit at Harland and Wolff berthing at the Outfitting Quay on 5th February.
At approximately 13:45 this afternoon the Building Dock Gate was removed and carefully towed away by the McLoughlin Tugs Sarah McLoughlin, Eileen McLoughlin and Sally McLoughlin.
Tugs Masterman and Merchantman from SMS Towage arrived on scene at approximately 14:00 to assist Oscar Wilde with the short shift of berth out of the Building Dock at Harland and Wolff. Shortly after the Masterman made fast to the bow of Oscar Wilde and Merchantman to the stern.
Once the building dock gate had been made fast Oscar Wilde let go at approximately 14:50 and was carefully manoeuvred off the berth to allow tug Eileen McLoughlin to retrieve a fender used by the Oscar Wilde in the Building dock and shift it to the outfitting quay.
The shift took approximately 30 minutes in total with the Oscar Wilde made fast at the Outfitting Quay and all tug vessels stood down.
