Stena Superfast X
Stena Superfast X operates the Dublin - Holyhead service for Stena Line alongside Stena Adventurer. The vessel built in 2002 in Kiel Germany was the final of 4 identical ships built by the Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft AG for use by Superfast Ferries. Superfast X operated alongside Superfast IX on the Rosyth - Zeebrugge Service for Superfast Ferries. In 2004 the vessel was sold to Veolia Transportation and renamed Jean Nicoli and had a spell on 2 different charters in the Med operating into and out of Tunisia for CoTuNav and later ANEK Lines for their Patras - Corfu - Igoumenitsa - Venice service. 2008 brought the first of 2 periods of Service on the Dover - Calais route. Firstly the vessel was chartered by SeaFrance and operated under the name Seafrance Moliere. Following a lay up and sale to Scapino Shipping Ltd the vessel was renamed Moliere. Her second period of operation on the Dover straits came in November 2012 under the name Dieppe Seaways for DFDS/LD Lines. Stena Line North Sea Ltd purchased the vessel prior to the end of its charter in 2014. Following refit and renaming Stena Superfast X the vessel took up service for Stena Line on the Dublin - Holyhead route in 2015. In February 2016 the vessel covered the refit period of Belfast - Cairnryan sisters Stena Superfast VII and Stena Superfast VIII. In January 2020 Stena Superfast X was replaced on the Dublin - Holyhead route by new build and first of the E-Flexer class, Stena Estrid. Stena Superfast X then began refit cover on the Irish Sea firstly Belfast-Cairnryan followed by Rosslare-Chebourg and finally back on Dublin-Holyhead. The vessel completed her Stena Line career with a short 3 day cover of Stena Superfast VIII at Belfast in March 2020. Stena Superfast X then departed Belfast for Piraeus, Greece for refit and modification for new life on the Med.
